How to make up for wat i have done?

my best friend said tat in a chat u shud always lie so listenin to her i lied to a guy bout my pic and my country but as days passed i found out tat he's a very honest person and i started regrettin for my lies so i told him the truth , he said he wud forgive me but wud never be the same and from tat day on he never used to talk properly he used to speak like "don't ask" or "don't talk" plz help me to find a way to make him forgive me properly ,(i knw he hasn't forgiven me) and i can't meet him he's far so a way like wat to say and so on.....plz kindly help i want this very important friend back....
