Why do certain pro-Zionists use the argument "Israel has the right to exist because it does"?

There is no logical fallacy. Jews have been persecuted in every nation they lived in so where do you want them to go? Don't they deserve a land to live in? They have a land now and are trying to make peace with the violent Hamas that shoots rockets at civilians and uses its own people as shields.
