Why does my laptop turn off when watching a streaming video,in a chatroom or listenin to a recorded radio show?

if you haven't set your laptop to turn off the HDD standby or hibernate etc after a certain period of no activity i.e.not using mouse pad or keyboard for say 10minutes it could be the fan is overheating try a cooling pad first then get the fan/heatsink assembly replaced
