Where's the big folk music scene in the US?

So I'm sort of a bit folk fan, love playin' and love listenin', but there doesn't seem to be a folk scene in America like there was in the 50's/60's or the 30's. So I'm hoping some of you more enlightened users here could help me figure out where exactly the current hubs for folk are located.
